your story brought tears to my eyes. That is very very touching.

Maybe in some ways raising a non related child may be easier, we don't see our own inherited traits that we dislike in ourselves. Not that I would but someone I knew actually said that is what was hard about having children. To him anyway.

Beautiful story about the fire and the papers. I wonder if the parents wished they had made copies of those documents!
