Two other things I forgot to mention from Cayce:
washing the eye with a weak boric acid solution (easy to find in any drugstore as "eyewash".)
Making of poultice of white potato grated or scraped - put on the closed eyelids and rest for a while. (This is very messy - I haven't done it much, because it's messy and time-consuming)
Also, instead of putting castor oil in the eye, it also helps, (in my experience) just to massage castor oil on the eyelids and area around the eye. If I do that in the evening at bedtime, in the morning I wash it off with soap or with baking soda and water solution, because according to Cayce castor oil can stimulate elimination of toxins through the skin and should be cleaned off.
Another thing I have used: 1 drop of Magnascent on finger tip massaged into area around the eye (don't get too close to eye itself).
