I too blamed soya for my hypothyroidism. I now think it might have been estrogen and menopause related.

I drank soya milk for two years through the menopause for the phytoestrogens, but then read negative stuff, and that it can cause hypo, so when i got hypo i naturally blamed soya.

I still avoid it out of habit, except soy sauce.
