What's this issue you have with Paul? He was God's apostle. His writings are clear and we know every word of the bible is God-breathed. You want to interpret Paul's writings from Peter's and the other's writings, but why don't you try interpreting Peter's and the other's writings from Paul's.
I know exactly where you are at though. It wasn't long ago that me and my dad were talking about all this. My dad said he could never understood the writings of Paul. He said one day he got so frustrated because he was trying to read Romans and it just didn't make sense to him. Why? Because he didn't understand grace. He thought it was all about the law still. Once you can understand that it's all by grace that we are saved, and really understand it, not just say it, then the writings of Paul become clear. Then once you can understand grace and Paul's writings, you can see how Peter's and James's and all the other writings, even of the old testament, fit together. It was all meant to point to Christ, and his mercy and grace, from the very beginning. Even before Adam and Eve sinned, God knew that he was going to send a savior, to redeem us from the fall. It's a love story Beej! It's not about the rules and regulations. He sent the law so we would be driven back into his arms, killed by the law that we couldn't keep, so that we could be made alive in Him!
You are bound in your understanding of the law, but I pray for you to be freed.
