For Parasite Warriors ~~ (Updated 11-3-10)

Albendazole & Ivermectin Drug Protocol:

Albendazole & Ivermectin are broad-spectrum antiparasitic drugs prescribed together for intestinal, ectoparasitic, & systemic infections of Strongyloides, Filariasis, & Morgellons.

For details on life cycles, symptoms, pictures, & treatment for parasites listed above, see references below.

These drugs are also prescribed together for other Nematode (Roundworm) hyperinfection cases:  http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1566532#i.

Medical journals & case studies show these parasite drugs have synergistic action & higher cure rates when taken during the same treatment period versus taken as separate treatments.

Strongyloides, Filariasis, & Morgellons are chronic, lifelong diseases.  To date, there isn't a 100% cure.  Their encysted stage can remain dormant in the body for 10-20 years.  In many cases, there are no symptoms until a hyperinfection stage is reached.

In most cases (but not all), the parasite drugs & antibiotics suggested in this protocol provide good results, decrease the parasite burden to almost nil, & alleviate the symptoms.

After treatment is completed, a maintenance dose of Ivermectin, taken every 7 days (once a week), keeps remaining encysted parasites sterile & prevents reinfection.
I used the following protocol, with good results, for a disseminated Strongyloide Stercoralis infection.

Albendazole & Ivermectin Drug Treatment:

Take these drugs during the same treatment period.

Albendazole (Albenza):  1 tablet*, 400mg, twice daily, AM/PM, evenly spaced 12 hrs apart.  Chew or crush tablet.  Take each dose with 8oz water & 40g fatty meal.** Take dose for 14 days on, 7 days off to rest the liver.  Repeat for 2 or more cycles, as needed, to cure infection.

Warning:  Taken for longer than 2 weeks without a 1-week rest break may result in temporary hair loss (Alopecia), liver impairment, or parasite drug-resistance.

Albendazole is poorly absorbed in the gut, so you must chew tablet very well!  Or use a pill splitter box, crush tablet into smithereens, & sprinkle on soft food.

*Instead of tablets, you can take Valbazen (Albendazole) Oral Suspension for Cattle & Sheep.  It contains 11.36% or 113.6mg/ml of Albendazole.  Use an oral syringe to measure 3.5ml, which equals a 400mg tablet.  Mix into a beverage or soft food to mask the blah taste.  May add sugar or other sweetener.

**You must consume 40g fatty meal w/each dose (e.g, grilled cheese sandwich, ice cream, cheese pizza, cheesecake, buttered popcorn, peanut butter, cheese, cottage cheese, whipped cream, sour cream, melted real butter, or salad dressing over food, etc).  Check labels for fat gram content.  Fat acts as a carrier & increases absorption & plasma concentration.  If you omit this step, you'll just flush $ & meds down the drain!

Albendazole dosing tips & other info:  http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1566532#i.

Ivermectin (Stromectol):  1 dose*, based on .2mg/kg, 1 hr before bedtime, on empty stomach, with 8oz water or beverage.  Take dose for 4 days on, 3 days off.  Repeat dosage every week (even during off-days of Albendazole) for 5 or more weeks, as needed, to cure infection.

Alternate Dosage Schedule:  For severe hyperinfection cases, follow this schedule instead of the above:  Take dose for 7 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on.  Continue the "pulse method" of 2 days off, 2 days on, etc, even during off-days of Albendazole, until infection is cured.

Post-Treatment for Strongyloides, Filariasis, & Morgellons:   Take a maintenance dose of Ivermectin every 7 days (once a week).  This suppressive therapy keeps any remaining encysted parasites sterile & prevents reinfection.

Ivermectin Side Effects:  When there is a heavy parasite burden, the first dose of Ivermectin might cause shortness of breath or abdominal discomfort.  This is caused by parasitic die-off & the toxins they release.  If extreme, stop dosage for 1-2 days & then resume.  These effects subside with subsequent doses as the parasite burden decreases.  See info below on the Herxheimer reaction.

*See Calculating Ivermectin Dosage Examples below.

Ivermectin (Stromectol) comes in 3mg, 6mg, & 12mg tablets.

Instead of tablets, you can take Ivermectin cattle suspension:
Cattle Pour-On Suspension (Agri-mectin, Agrimectin, Ivomec, & Durvet Ivermectin) contains 5mg/ml of Ivermectin.
~ To calculate your dose*, see Examples below.  Use an oral syringe to measure your dosage.
~ Mix suspension into beverage or small amount of soft food (e.g., pudding, applesauce, yogurt, etc) to mask the strong tasteMay add sugar or other sweetener.

Instead of tablets, you can take Ivermectin horse paste:
~ Buy Ivermectin (1.87%) horse paste without other meds (e.g., Zimectrin Gold contains Praziquantel).
~ Brands:  Agri-mectin, Bimectin, Durvet, Equell, Equimax, Equimectrin, Eqvalan, Horse Health, Promectin, Vetrimec, Zimectrin (Regular, not Gold), & other generic brands.
~ Paste is prefilled in a plastic syringe with knotches marked in pounds (lbs).  Each syringe treats a total of 1,250lbs.  Divide your weight into 1,250lbs to calculate # of doses in each syringe & # of syringes needed for treatment before ordering.
~ Instructions for measuring dosage & dispensing paste:  http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1678512#i
~ Mix paste into small amount of soft food (e.g., pudding, applesauce, yogurt, etc.) to mask the yucky taste.  May add sugar or other sweetener.

To convert your body weight from pounds (lbs) to kilograms (kg), use the Curezone "Convert Weights Easily" Calculator (scroll down to middle of page):  http://curezone.com/conversions.asp.

*Calculating Ivermectin Dosage Examples:
Your weight   =  132lb = 59.874kg (rounded to 60kg)
Tablet Dose   =  .2mg x 60kg = 12mg
Paste Dose     =   See above instructions to measure weight in lbs
Suspension Dose:   =  .2mg x 60kg = 12mg divided by 5mg/ml = 2.4ml

Allergy Tablets:   1-2 capsules, 25mg, Benadryl Allergy (or store brand Diphenhydramine HCl), every 6-8 hrs.  Antihistamines speed up die-off by dessication (drying up) of parasites.  Also relieve itching, stinging, & swelling from parasites, larva, cysts, & die-off in skin, mucous membranes, muscles, & soft tissue.  Recommend capsules versus tablets for sustained release.  Available at drugstores.

Antibiotics:  Parasites, larva, & eggs that migrate or scatter carry enteric bacteria & pathogens from the GI tract.  They may (but not always) spread bacterial infections throughout the body (e.g., respiratory tract, mucous membranes, genitourinary tract, organs, skin, soft tissue, eyes, ears, etc).

At the beginning of parasite drug treatment, I took Bactrim DS (Double-Strength), 800/160mg, twice daily, for 4 weeks, for soft tissue, sinus, urinary tract, & lung bacterial infections caused by dissemminated parasites & die-off.

If allergic to Bactrim, see optional antibiotics below.

If you don't have bacterial infections (such as those listed above), skip taking the Bactrim.  However, suggest you keep a supply of this antibiotic on hand for infections that may develop from die-off after starting drug treatment.

Morgellons:  Since Bactrim heals skin & soft tissue infections, recommend taking it during first 4 wks of above drug treatment to enhance healing of parasitic die-off in Morgellons sores & lesions.

When finished taking the Bactrim, I then took Doxycycline, 100mg, twice daily, for 6 weeks.

Doxycycline enhances the synergistic & antiparasitic effects of Ivermectin & results in higher cure rates.  It's a key element in treatment of Strongyloides, Filariasis, & Morgellons.  If treating those infections, do not skip taking this drug.

If Bactrim or other antibiotics are not taken for bacterial infections, then start taking Doxycline at the beginning of parasite drug treatment.

Do not take Bactrim (or other antibiotics) & Doxycycline together or during the same time period.  Finish the dosage cycle of one antibiotic before starting the next antibiotic.

Bactrim DS/Sulfamethoxazole-Trimethoprim/SMZ-TMP): (For Morgellons & Bacterial Infections)  First 4 wks of parasite drug treatment:  1 tablet*, twice daily, evenly spaced 12 hours apart, with 8oz water.  If unsure of sulfa drug allergy, take gradual dose increases:  1/2 tablet first day, 1 tablet second day, 1-1/2 tablet third day, & 2 tablets daily thereafter.  This slow "ramp-up" dosage method generally prevents allergic reaction.

*Two tablet sizes are available:  Bactrim 400/80mg (Regular Strength) & Bactrim DS 800/160mg (Double Strength).  There are 61 brands of Bactrim (Sulfamethoxazole-Trimethoprim, SMZ-TMP):  http://www.druginfosys.com/AlterBrandResult.aspx?code=9406&packing=13859

Doxycycline Hyclate/Vibra-Tabs/Vibramycin: (For Strongyloides, Filariasis, & Morgellons)  Next 6 wks of parasite drug treatment:  1 tablet, 100mg, twice daily, evenly spaced 12 hrs apart. Take on empty stomach, 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal, with 8oz water.  Take 2-3 hrs before or after products containing aluminum, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, or bismuth subsalicylate.  Examples: Antacids, Didanosine, Quinapril, vitamins w/minerals, dairy products (e.g., milk, yogurt), & calcium-enriched juice.  These bind with Doxycycline & prevent full absorption.  Do not lie down for 15 mins to prevent acid reflux.  Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.  For nausea, eat a light nondairy snack, saltine or soda crackers, or drink lemon-lime carbonated beverages (e.g., 7-up, Sprite, etc). (http://www.webmd.com/drugs/mono7073DOXYCYCLINE++ORAL.aspxdrugid=8648&drugname=Doxycycline+Hyclate+Oral)

Optional antibiotics:  Amoxicillin, Augmentin, Azithromycin, Cephalexin (Keflex), Ciprofloxacin (Cipro), Clindamycin, Minocycline (Dynacin, Solodyn), Tetracycline, & Zithromax.

Notes:
Recommend taking these antiparasitic vitamins & supplements, especially Zinc & Sulfur (MSM), during treatment:  http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1575262#i.

Eat high-fiber foods & drink 8 glasses of fluids daily to flush out parasitic die-off & toxins.

During drug treatment, stop using herbal remedies, flushes, cleanses, DE, laxatives, colonics, MMS, nutrasilver, RIFE, zappers, & other OTC parasite products.

None of these methods cure parasite infections.  They can be very toxic, destroy beneficial gut flora, & impair organs of the digestive system.

They cause parasites to scatter everywhere, carrying enteric pathogens with them.  And they counteract & remove parasite drugs from your system.

Disseminated parasites & toxins throughout the body create a hyperinfection stage & severely impact the immune system.  Then it's an uphill battle to eradicate them & repair damage done to the body.

For constipation or if worms or larva migrate to lower colon/anal area out of reach of meds in upper intestines:

~ At bedtime, take 1-2 tsp mineral oil to soften stool & loosen grip of worms & larva.  Wear underwear protection, because if you pass gas, you might "burn oil". (lol)

~ Or use a Fleet saline enema to flush out stool, worms, larva, die-off, & toxins from the colon.

Herxheimer Reaction To Parasitic Die-Off:
While taking parasite drugs, a Herxheimer reaction might occur in severe infections with a heavy parasite burden.  This is an immune system response to toxic chemicals (endotoxins) released in the blood & tissue by parasites & pathogens killed off by medication.

While the body is detoxifying, the released toxins might (but not always) either worsen the symptoms being treated or create their own.

As a result, you might feel worse before feeling better.  Although you may not feel very well, the Herx effect is actually a sign that healing is taking place.

The important thing is that worsening symptoms do not indicate failure of the treatment in question.  In fact, it's usually just the opposite.

So brace yourself if dying parasites & toxins make a mass exodus from every pore & orifice of your body.  To quote the poet Dylan Thomas, sometimes these dying beasts "do not go gentle into that good night."

Tips to relieve a Herx reaction:  http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1617480#i.

Carefully research all pros & cons of drug treatment based on your overall health condition, medical history, & other meds you're taking (see above drug monographs & references).

Before starting any drug treatment, recommend medical diagnosis & lab testing to confirm the type of parasitic infection so that appropriate meds are used for treatment.

But brace yourself for bad news.  Even when you take in whole worms or specimens for lab tests, results are usually negative!#? (lol)  This occurs when specific parasite tests (there are many to choose from) aren't ordered by your doctor.  This also applies to blood tests.

Stool tests are also unreliable.  The sample you collect may not contain any worms, eggs, or larva because they're not shed everyday.  Or the lab takes a small smear that doesn't contain anything to test although other areas of the sample contain parasites.  Or specific parasite tests aren't ordered.

Brace yourself for more bad news.  The mantra of most doctors is that all parasite infections only occur in 3rd world countries or poor, dirty, uneducated, lower-class folks!#?  They usually diagnose patients with "Delusional Parasitosis" & prescribe anti-psychotic drugs as a cure, which, of course, is a big dose of "BS"!! (lol)

So be sure to take tranquilizers or blood pressure meds before your office visit so you don't go BESERK when you're told you're CRAZY!?#.  Or try my tips for doctor appointments:  http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1611820. (hee hee)

Good luck & keep us posted on your progress!  Feedback helps everyone on the forum.
