Hi Dr. Lam,

I spoke with an ND regarding this symptom of Adrenal Fatigue and he claimed that it is due to a dysfunction of the HPA axis with the Hypothalamus and the Pituitary becoming overactive and constantly stimulating the already weakened adrenals glands.

Would you agree with this theory or is it your assertion that the "tired and wired" sensation stems from an imbalance in the Autonomic Nervous System, mainly due to an over activation of the Sympathetic Nervous System?

If the problem is rooted in the SNS, will doing the adrenal breathing exercises and taking supplements such as GABA help to re-balance the ANS and eliminate the "tired and wired" feeling altogether?
