Hi,
to answer a few questions and some more info just incase
I use manuka honey from NZ or Australia, I found more success on 10- 18/20 + honey as 20 & up is really strong for me, but others may tolerate it better than I did.
You can get manuka online its all organic if its active.
Honey from yemeni is the best in my opinion, I used to live in dubai and discovered the use of Sidr or Douani honey from yemen there, its expensive ranging from 30-50$ kilo for mutlifloral and 100$ for kilo of sidr but it lasts for a month or more and its well worth it.
Honey for me anyways didnt make my candida worse at all, the Sugar inside in my opinion was outweighed by the antifungal benefits, not to much it helps us digest and helps with constipation.
My diet was "sugar free" clean cooked foods, vegetables & meats and small amounts of pita bread or freshly baked wholemeal bread no preservatives at all.
Plenty of water & be vigilant with the honey as I said daily 3 times on empty stomach in warm water diluted. I stopped every vitamin & mineral , all a waste of time if you ask me, the diet rich in vitamins & minerals is sufficient.
Good links i see posted by others on the anti fungal properties of honey.
I have to mention I also had intestinal tuberculosis as well as candida. i got TB years after being sick with CFS/IBS 14 yrs of Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome to be precise, I was traveling to Middle east and picked up TB in the intestines quite bad, due to my suppressed immune system for which i had to take Antibiotics , the honey still manages to kill the fungus even if we are on Antibiotics , even tho being Antibiotics is not advisable as we all know.
I truely believe the healing properties of Honey has been overlooked by lots of "candida specialists" because they cant make money from it.
:)
