The more I think about this, the more I want to make sure and clarify what is happening with your new juicer.

Every motor on every kitchen appliance warms up when we use it - some appliances 'run hotter' than others. The difference between what we all call 'hot' or 'warm' is vast...but no matter what each of our 'touch sensors' register as 'hot' or 'warm', there's that place where we know the appliance should be turned off because it TOO hot. With a quality juicer, I do not believe this should happen after 3 hours and 20 pints of juice.

We have an Omega 8005 (so we need to "push" the produce in, and cut it into smaller pieces). MANY times we've juiced for a solid 4-6 hours (one of us cutting/chopping, the other 'pushing in') as fast as two adults possibly can, and the juicer body has NEVER gotten anywhere close to what I would call 'so hot we need to turn it off and let it rest'.

It may be that the VRT just 'runs hotter' than a typical appliance. However, if you're sensing/discerning it really needs to be 'shut down to cool off' after only 3 hours of juicing, then I would definitely be contacting Omega (and other VRT owners) to learn if this is common. And if it is...well, everybody must make their own choices as to what they can live/work with (especially when 'overheating' an appliance over & over shortens it's life span). Personally, I feel a juicer needs to be a 'work horse' that is capable of running 4+ hours daily, and I wouldn't be confident/comfortable with less. On the other hand, Omega does have a 10 year warranty, so one *should* be able to get a replacement anytime one is needed.
