I can respond to the Vitamin D.

As you may have heard through many reports now that Americans are not getting enough Vitamin D. Some reports say as many as 1 in 3 people are Vitamin D defficient. The problem is that everyone is using sun screen and avoiding the sun these days with skin cancer and aging concerns.

The average person needs 15 minutes a day of sun exposure on this face, arms and chest with no suncreen to have sufficient Vitamin D levels. I would say that since you were tested in the summer and you are that low your Vitamin D will just get worse as fall approaches. 2,000 iu a day sounds a little high, I am currently taking 1,000 iu a day. I would contact your doctor, you don't want to get to much Vitamin D. He may just suggest that they test your Vitamin D every two months to make sure that you are doing okay. My iron was very low for a long time so I was tested every two months to make sure I wasn't getting too much iron.

Did you try to get a little sun every day. From all my research, diet doesn't seem to alter Vitamin D that much, It can help, but really you need a little sun.

I had my eldest son tested and he was low as well. So, I try to take them to the park every day for about 10-15 minutes for what I call Vitamin D therapy. He also takes supplements. Vitamin D as you probably know can greatly affect your energy. I can't beleive how much more energy I have now after a summer full of sun. My energy is through the roof. I am dreading the winter.
