The align I have started taking have done more to help my symptoms then any other strain out there, even without culturing it in milk, which actually worked excellent for me, better then using kefir grains because the product had a more neutral taste with none of those clumpy pieces that kefir always got. I'll probably culture most of my align in milk going forward to greatly increase it's potency.
Align is Bifidobacterium infantis 35624 in case you're wondering, a very particular strain isolated from a healthy human intestine some years ago for it's effectiveness.
I'd also like to give the culturelle a try, which is a strain of lactobacillus rhamnosus GG isolated for it's effectiveness. I suspect that will culture in milk just fine as well. It's not the number of variety of strains, but rather the strain itself that seems to make the difference. These two have been proven to work better and the align at least, does.
The top strain is good for the lower intestine, but bottom one has more a tendency to colonize the upper intestine, to the two put together should complement each other well.
