Yes, it is usually much better to take two different antifungal medications than a double dose of only one. However this is only true if the medications are sufficiently different in that they kill different strains of Candida and/or have a different antifungal mechanism. Often laboratory tests show that when two antifungals act synergistically, the end result is not cumulative, but exponential (1 + 1 = 8, not 2).
Taking two or more antifungals also reduces the possibility that a resistant strain becomes dominant.
However this doesn't mean one should take 10 different antifungals at once. It is terribly important that the antifungals you take are actually effective against the pathogenic strain of Candida that is causing your symptoms. For example if you take 10 herbal antifungals at random, you might only be taking one or two that inhibit your pathogen. The others might only be killing good bacteria and commensal yeasts. This is not good, because you would probably not be taking enough of the effective AFs, and making your dysbiosis worse by killing too much 'good' bowel flora.
Ideally, you want to identify two or three antifungals that you are confident do kill your pathogenic strain of Candida, and do not kill many good bacteria. Of course this is often easier said than done.
