IVERMECTIN Horse paste 3ml of cow pour on (blue dye...I'd rather not drink dye.... :) 15ml of sheep drench....*retch* 3 notches worth of the Canadian horse paste, white cream, sweet and slightly bitter 3 1/2 notches of the US horse paste...APPLE FLAVOR! This is my personal fav! It's actually a gel rather than a paste. http://www.durvet.com/wtb_search.lasso For online purchases, here's one option but it's on ebay too. Let me know if these suppliers ship to Canada. http://www.thefind.com/pets/browse-durvet-ivermectin-paste Update: This helped by giving me some relief from the monsters crawling around but it was not 100% effective for me but may be worth a try for pinworms. It should be really good for other topical uses.
The taste buds on our tongues are sensitive to different tastes in different areas. Sweet is on the tip of the tongue, while bitter is in the back. Place desired amount of paste on a spoon then lick it off with the tip of your tongue. SSOOooo easy to take! Then just swallow it like a pill with a glass of water. I keep it in the fridge, which makes it even easier to take and the plunger works more smoothly when chilled. Ivermectin is Ivermectin is Ivermectin, whether it's for sheep, cows, horses or humans. It just comes in different forms to make it easier to dose a particular type of critter but it's all the same medication.
For me taking 15ml of Sheep Drench was difficult. It tastes NASTY (Durvet is the only one I tried), made my tongue numb and I had terrible acid indigestion for hours. After taking it a few times, I knew I was going to heave if I tried to drink all this liquid again.
The dosage of Ivermectin for horses and humans is the same per pound or kilogram.
The options are for a 75Kg human....all the same amount of Ivermectin just different formulas....
EQVALAN - This is the only brand that I have found at feed stores and veterinary offices in BC, Canada. It costs $17

This is the applicator. The plunger has markings for every 100kg dose and there are 4 notches between each marking. Each notch equals a dosage for 25kg of body weight.
This is the amount needed for 75kg body weight.
75kg dose on a teaspoon. I put this on the tip of my tongue and swallowed like a pill. It tasted slightly bitter and I followed this with a glass or water. This is the same amount of Ivermectin as 15ml of Sheep drench.
DURVET APPLE - Apple flavor (ain't that sweet!) is the same strength and you can get it online for less than $3. Available at most US feed stores. To find a distributor near you in the US
Durvet plunger has markings for every 250 pounds of body weight and has 5 notches between each marking. Each notch equals a dosage for 50 pounds of body weight.
I've also been using this cream topically for pinworms in the vagina and urinary tract, with no negative effects (for me that is!). It often kills the pins on contact. Some do get past it but I have not felt them ever crawl back in! I put a little up inside my vag and have found a bunch (10-15) dead worms there. I use one notch of cream and mix it with enough diaper rash cream with 40% zinc to spread on the affected areas.
