it isn't bad, it is just that some tissues in your body like Iodine and some like IodiDe, so taking both allows them to have both available.

you can get 5% Lugols (less drops) or Iodoral which is a tablet in either 12.5mg or 50mg

best to take away from food so the Iodine has time to be absorbed and used.
