Thanks for the great reply bm303. Exactly what I was hoping for. I did a lot of research on the topic before posting that, and there is a lot of contradicting knowledge out there.
People really seem sold on the Cutler program, it just seems a little passive and slow to me, and doesn't take into account all of the knowledge gained about the topic in the 10 years since it was created.
To comment on a few of your items:
1) EDTA - This was actually recommended by a quality Naturopath. I'm told IV EDTA doesn't work so well on mercury, but the suppository EDTA has some published studies on it's dramatic success and safety. The suppository also time releases, fixing the need for crazy dosing schedules at night. So what's your reasoning behind saying "no" to it?
2) Vitamin C - I definitely won't take this before the anesthesia, this seems to be the big clear no-no I overlooked. Thanks.
3) I've also been recommended Chlorella for the first stage of excreting the Mercury, and I've been told that without Chlorella you really have a strong chance of creating a loop where Mercury is constantly reabsorbed once it hits the colon. What's your reasoning for saying "NEVER" to chlorella? The same goes for garlic, I've read good things about it and Mercury, here's an example: http://www.hbci.com/~wenonah/new/9steps.htm
4) I was told that all chelators have the risk of eliminating your Copper and Zinc, and just taking Zinc could throw off this important balance. Why shouldn't I take a Zinc Copper blend while chelating? this seems to be a consensus recommendation many places on the web.
I definitely want to me smart, and not risk getting worse. To me the really important part is to get all of the surface and tissue mercury out before messing with the brain/nervous system in any way. That's why ALA and cilantro will not come into my plan for months. Maybe you had a bad experience because you started cilantro too early?
How are you now? Better? How long did it take?
