I think you are right Mingus, prevention is always better than trying to fix a major problem. I recently did liver flushes, just as a self experiment. I know I did not have any gall stones, or liver stones , as I had a very thorough ultra sound examination before I decided to try the experiment. (I use bitters daily, along with olive oil and rice bran oil).
I wanted to see if I would have the stones that others have reported. This is what happened, I did produce 'stones', these were similar to what is reported by people doing liver flushes. The thing is, I know they did not come from my gall bladder or liver, so they must have come from the ingredients of the flush, combined with my own bile.
I can confidently say that I have proven to myself that these flushes are bogus. While they may help people by contracting the gallbladder, and the placebo effect, they do not get rid of gallstones. As Hv says, they could potentially be very dangerous, which is why I made sure that I did not have gallstones, as I did not want to risk lodging one in the bile duct.
