Yeah, I guess the constant re-infection thing really cannot be permanently fixed, unless someone invents some powerful mojo that boosts the immune system and selectively sics it on fungi.
Hmmm... actually... Isn't that how immunizations work? Sounds strangely do-able.
As to our argument here, I was operating under the assumption that one or more existing fungus balls (aka Aspergilliosis) in the upper or lower respiratory system are killable (they generally are), and that this was what the OP had. And I'm still inclined to believe that she probably does have that, and not your more complicated case, since hers is just popping up now.
On your case - what about very dry climates and maximizing plastics and metals use in living areas? Would that help at all? Off the top of my head, I'd assume that an old wooden home with lots of upholstery in some rainy and misty place like London would be infested with the stuff, while some space-age looking metal and plastic monstrosity in Dubai would have next to none, and truly zero spores if you didn't use air conditioning...
PS no need to scare the hell out of the OP. AngelofEventide hasn't shown any indication of being at risk of regular reinfection should her current one be fully taken care of.
