My 10 year old mini foxy has had severe dermatitis since she was about 3 years old, I'd take her to the vet and he'd put her on cortisone.
Finally after 7 years it is now under control and it's all natural. I give her home cooked chicken breasts with a bit of brown rice, sardines in vegetable oil (3 times a week) and tuna once a week. I also bathe her with a completely organic body wash that I myself use. Her paws are no longer bright red and inflamed, she doesn't lick them that often either! Her diet is also supplemented with raw meaty bones a couple of times a week and she loves it! I wish I knew then that her treatment was so simple, take her off the processed kibble with crap in and put her on a more natural diet. With my next puppy I'll definitely go all raw! It prevents so many health related issues. I'm also taking her to a holistic Vet that understands my view on this and supports it any way she can. If your Vet doesn't approve of RAW then change Vets immediately! It will save you a lot of money in vet bills as well as give you a healthier, happier pet.
Remember to never give your dog cooked bones!!!
