the Iodine docs talk about the sodium symporter not working. i dont know the technicalities of that, i just take their word for it because they say either vit C or MORE Iodine will do the trick and neither of those is a problem to do.

what the Iodine project doesnt focus enough on is the halogen imbalance. thats what the higher doses do - they overcome the gradient and start displacing AND escorting out the bad halogens, not just displacing them to settle somewhere else. it takes a greater than 1:1 ratio of a heavier halogen to a lighter halogen to displace it and iodine is the heaviest so it takes more of iodine by weight than it would bromine or fluorine to displace iodine. when enough iodine is present the body will prefer that over the others as well.

interesting about the magnesium problem. let me think about that.

if you have magnascent 2% then 8 drops is about two and a half mg. its great stuff but the addition of a couple hundred mg of KI gives it a base to work from that increase effectiveness. SSKI 2% with magnets tries to be the equivalent of KI and magnascent in a single product.

since you have lugols, you could increase your dose of iodine by simply putting Lugols in orange juice. the iodine turns to Iodide in orange juice. then you can take 100s of mg of iodine without the oxidative stress of Lugols in water.
