"The one drawback with the Yahoo Group (not just her's but all of them) is that once a post "scrolls of the screen,". The way around that is to repost your message with the word BUMP in front of your subject title.

"In so many words, you mentioned "switching" from the KI tabs to Iodoral or Lugol's. I'm sticking with the KI tabs for now as I don't want to keep "stirring up a hornet's nest." But are you saying that I might expect fewer detox symptoms with them even at their much higher doses? (I'd certainly go for that!)" Your body needs elemental Iodine too, you can add magnascent with the KI. It might be what's missing and causing the fatigue.

" But are you saying that I might expect fewer detox symptoms with them even at their much higher doses? (I'd certainly go for that!)" That's been reported on Trapper/Wombat's Iodine supplementation forum. But, other folks have reported different. It's all individual.

"Heard good things about Erfa. Can you recommend a good pharmacy in Canada in the event my tests bear out the need for generic Armour." Universal Drugstore --http://www.universaldrugstore.com/

"What do you know about Dr. Flechas? I've been listening to his radio interviews and his YouTube lecture and think he rates right up there with Dr. Brownstein. (They're the only one's I'm familiar with at this point.) I was surprised to hear him say that he feels that sometimes a hypo on Iodine can ween off of Armour. (He did it himself.) In all my research, I'd not read that perspective. Any thoughts on this?" It's certainly possible, but before that happens, a lot of detoxing has to occur before your body becomes saturated and then you must keep up the iodine supplementation because of all the halides out there competing with the iodine in our bodies.

"He also said that "If you take supplemental thyroid hormones, you inhibit the ability of the body to absorb iodine. That is why they recommend to patients about to received radioactive-iodine scans that they go off all thyroid hormones for two to three weeks prior to the scan." So Iodine must be taken before thyroid hormones as well as before salt and antioxidants. Is this your understanding, too?" That's just for RAI, not iodine. The body, including the thyroid needs iodine, the desiccated thyroid contains some iodine but most of the iodine you take in is grabbed by the thyroid, the rest will go to the other iodine receptors. Flechas is not advocating NOT taking desiccated thyroid in lieu of iodine if you need the thyroid meds. I take my iodine with my supplements, which is usually at breakfast. I take my erfa sublingually in the morning, usually before coffee. You can go over to the iodine board on yahoo and post your question to Stephanie (ladybugsandbees). She's a patient and friend of Brownstein. As far as I know, taking iodine with thyroid meds is not a problem. You need to know the date of some of these lectures are a few years old and doesn't reflect knowledge of new research. Anyway, if your body doesn't need the iodine, it will excrete it. I wouldn't worry about the iodine and thyroid meds interacting. My guess is you are iodine deficient and your body is soaking up what you take like a sponge.

Finally, you are probably also dealing with adrenal fatigue. If your adrenals are fatigued, all the iodine in the world isn't going to unfatigue them, they need specific nutrients: B complex, extra B5, vitamin C 1-2 grams daily, minimum, tryosine, and if you have high cortisol then phosphdityl serine, and licorice, isocort or rx hydrocortisone for low cortisol. A 24 hr cortisol saliva test will tell you what your adrenals are doing. Janie's link on adrenals will give you some home tests you can do to determine if you have weak adrenals "Those Durn Adrenals".
