Hi,
I recently discovered that my wake-up body temperature is low (96.5 - 97.7° F). So I tried some Solaray Thyroid caps (thyroxine-free) and got quite a boost (and some hyperactivity) a day and a half later. (Didn't know I couldn't take it in close proximity to calcium.) But the boost was short lived - just happened that one time.
After considering all my symptoms, it looks like I might be hypothyroid with a somewhat weakened adrenal and a need for more iodine/iodide.
Btw, I have had a severe case of Candida for 11 years causing crippling fatigue and think that my high daily canditoxin load has probably wiped out my daily intake of Iodine and thus put the hurt to my thyroid (and adrenals).
I'm in the process of getting a Thyroid Panel (TSH, T4, Free T4, Free T3) blood test via Life Extension Foundation (LEF), taking my temperature every 3 hours per Dr. Rind's website, steadily increasing the thyroid caps (3 caps 2x/day) and trying to find the "sweet spot" for salt loading, Atomidine (Heritage brand) Iodine drops, and Potassium Iodide tablets (Now Foods brand).
I've not been able to successfully replicate the boost of energy regardless of what I do. If the blood tests confirm that I'm hypo, I hope to get a prescription for generic Armour (assuming I can find a doc or endo who isn't brainwashed by Big Pharma).
In the meantime, I'm curious. What is it in the Solaray thyroid caps that might have given me the boost of energy? (I realize it's lacking Thyroxine.) Bear in mind that I hadn't changed anything else in my supp protocol when that occurred.
Thanks,
Paul
