Blastocystiosis first described by Alexeieff in 1911. Some medical doctors think this is a infection diseases that can cause problems and they will treat it others will not treat it.

This basically according to the book Zoonose, edited by Palmer, Soulsby and Simpson

Treatment of B. hominis infections in humans is controversial. Dietary management also has been suggested, and found to be effective in two studies (Swellengrebel 1917, Kain et al. 1987)."
