I personally know a medical doctor who teamed up with an enviro scientist friend of mine who have done a great deal of work to make people aware of the pervasiveness of mold in our indoor environments. With data from the field they were able to stimulate some new innovations in several areas.

One key invention that was spawned from their critical research was nano silver technology where a layer of nano sized silver particles is bonded to the surface of certain things in order to inhibit mold and bacterial growth. It is now being used in some washing machines, fridges, air conditioners, etc.

And

At least one washing machine is now available on the market that utilizes ozone.

In their studies they found that over 90% of all washing machines harbored mold due to their design.

With research they did there are options.

Colloidal Silver has a great place (even being used on band aids now) and ozone has an important function as well.
