Like you mentioned, I have also often read before that the liver plays an essential role in acne. What did you do for the liver? Just liver flushes or more? FLUSH YO LIVA! its the best and was one of the most powerful healing tools I've used for clear skin. Thousands of people have done them and I would recommend you do them. I have done some liver cleanses too. I got caught up in the whole "get the debris out" stuff that is all over curezone. What I will say is LIver flushing is like taking your car to the car wash and liver cleansing is like taking it to the mechanic for fine tuning and running better. You NEED BOTH! right! And of course this forum will recommend coffee enemas. I've actually never done one but I'm preparing to do them. Uny says it elevates your glutathione by 500-700%. IF that research is correct that will do WONDERS for your skin because glutathione is a powerful antioxidant and plays a huge ANTI-inflammatory role in the body. And folliculitis is definately based in toxicity/inflammation.

One thing I know nothing about is food combining. I do know it's important, but I don't know how to combine foods. If you can give any advice here or reccomend resources, I would love to hear it!

I would google search food combining and "the body ecology diet" . Donna Gates is really good on that topic. Basically theres 3 rules.

1. Don't mix carbs with proteins during the same meal

2. Wait 3-4 hours when switching from a carb meal to a protein meal

3. Eat fruits on a empty stomach and 30 min before any meal

This all plays into how your body digests foods. It needs a certain environment to digest and assimilate carbohydrates and needs more acid to digest a protein meal. When you combine them it confuses and taxes the digestive system because the forces 'negate' eachother a bit and that can cause a rise in blood sugar = pro inflammatory response = not good for problematic skin. Also this explains why beans MAKE YOU FART!! Its a starch and a protein! So it can be gasy especially if you don't soak the beans before hand to remove the enzyme enhibitors and make them easier to digest!

Happy Healing
