My health book states that one important function of the liver is to deal with excessive hormones:
Yes, I have brought this fact up numerous times on CZ.
"Failure of the liver to synthesize enzymes needed to inactivate various hormones allows excessive amounts to accumulate in the body, resulting in a variety of unpleasant symptoms.
"For instance, inability to inactivate the antidiuretic hormone controlling urine production allows the tissues to become waterlogged.
"Too little insulinase permits the insulin in the blood to be excessive and the blood sugar to remain consistently low."
So, yes, there is liver involvement in chronic low-blood-sugar. In most cases it boils down to limited enzyme synthesis, a function of the liver.
ROTFLMAO!!!! Do you see the massive flaws in your reasoning ? Apparently not. To start with as we agree the liver breaks down excess HORMONES. But insulinase, also known as Insulin-degrading enzyme (IDE), is not a hormone, it is an enzyme. Furthermore it is an enzyme mainly found in the liver. Yet the liver apparently is not metabolizing it like a hormone. So two flaws so far in your post. Furthermore insulinase is not only produced by the liver. It is also produced in the kidneys, pancreas, muscle, brain and the placenta. But the greatest activity of insulinase is in the kidneys. In addition insulin release is regulated by the adrenals and pancreas, not the liver. So what you are talking about is an EXTREMELY rare cause of hypoglycemia. And as I have pointed out already there are several forms of hypoglycemia. The most common causes being adrenal dysfunction (chronic hypoglycemia) and chromium deficiency (acute or reactive hypoglycemia).
If you ever intend to win any debates here you better learn how the body really works!!!!
