It's good to know an alternative to the negative averments that on paper keeps you out of court. The only hitch I see is if the affidavit get rebutted by either the official or the lawyer who has power of attorney. Then you have to be able to back up your claim with case law and or factual evidence. But it's a good thing that most officials and lawyers would throw your affidavit in the garbage due to their own arrogance and stupidity and allow it to mature and result in a default win for you.

The only other hitch I see is getting the bond/policy number from the "local governemt administrator." I would think you could go to the State L&I office or the State Insurance Comissioner's Office or the State Secretaries Office and get it since all companies have to be bonded or insured to operate, and it has to be registered.

And like the guy said, if they aren't insured or bonded, they are operating illegally and you owe nothing, which you could tell the "local government administrator", to help persuade them into telling you what you want to know. And if that doesn't work, here in Washington they have a law that says that the governemtn can't tell us what we should know or what we shouldn't know and any official who thinks otherwise is liable. I'm sure there is some kind of law like this in every state too. Plus when we decide to hire a contractor to build a deck on our house for instance, we have the right to ask to see their bond number. And if they refuse to show it, you can report them. The same would be true for these "officials" too.

But the process is simple and inexpensive. It's a great alternative for anyone in a pinch financially. And I have at least one official in mind I might try it on. :-) Plus like the guy said, an official can be anyone from an employee at Wallmart to a cop, lawyer or judge. Nice find again T!

Thanks
