Ditto here... I was very disappointed when I read that (and a bit alarmed as well)... I have been using coconut oil on a regular basis for the past year or more with great results.... I wonder if it's outdated information? Coconut oil had a bad reputation in the past being lumped in with the tropical oils... it's only been the past 8-10 years (maybe less) that CO has been found to be so beneficial.. I see that my copy of the Eat Right 4 Your type was copyrighted in 1996 -- perhaps the information in the book is outdated.. I stopped using it for a few days when I revisited the book recently, then went back to using the CO again... I'll just keep a bit closer watch over the next while and see if there are any detrimental effects that maybe I missed in the past.
