You can't "become" gay, either you are gay, bi or straight, with variations in between, not everyone who is gay likes stereotypical gay things, just as not every straight guy plays football, drinks beer and watches Nascar.
Andrew Lloyd Webber is a director of musicals, he loves arts and is very effiminate...and is married to Sarah Brightman and has five kids. Listening to a certain style of music does not make you gay. I just want to quickly bring this to your attention, because really that stereotyping of gay people, is homophobia. I'm straight, I like Lady Gaga, I like art, on the other end of the token I listen to thrash metal and love soccer, no one in this world can just be pushed into one little box.
Now as to what you did, yes with the benefit of hindsight, what you did was maybe not the most morally correct thing in the universe, but that said, you didn't make him gay.
My theory is based on the traditional theory put by Freud, we are all born bisexual and our enviroment shapes us into either Heterosexual or Homosexuality, or sometimes both develop and we remain Bisexual (this is not to say bisexuals are undeveloped, in fact they are usually the most assertive of their sexua| identity and frequently far more stable than most straight or gay people I've met).
But sexuality is formed well before the years you described.
I'm not sure if he is gay or not, that's something only he can tell you, if he is, support, I would recommend if both of you have a little trauma left of the childhood stuff, maybe go to counselling together
