Zoe, I have a friend working on the second relief well, he has told me that the deepwater horizon well, has indeed been capped. They are still going ahead with the 2 relief wells though. From what he knows, (and he is there), the capped well will not be reopened, even though the government seems to be pushing for this. It is too unstable and too dangerous to reopen, at least at this stage. It may be reopened in the future after it has been properly stabilised and the relief wells are in place.

I don't expect anyone to believe this, anymore than any other info, but on a personal level, I trust my friend a whole lot more than I trust BP or the US government, and much more than a youtube video.
