Well everyone responds differently to these types of pathogens, a lot of this depends on the state of your immune system. Doing beneficial things for your immune system will always help you, for instance a healthy Diet (organic vegetables and fruits), staying away from junk food etc will help the immune system. Mineral rich food, antioxidants, vitamin D etc. will help as well.
