There is nothing a doctor can do to treat it except give you meds. I've heard of people doing absolutely gruesome things, like getting their cartilage scrapped, and having pain things inserted in their spine. I myself was put on higher and higher doses of meds like percoset and darvoset until I was a zombie. I actually lost my job from being so loopy. The worse part is that these meds did not cut the pain at all.
The only thing that finally helped was finding an amazing massage therapist that understood the condition. She started doing something like rolfing, and believe it or not, it worked. Those massage session were awful, but I was very thankful. I did a year of acupuncture too, but didn't do one thing for me.
I was told by my doctor that costo was NOT chronic, and should go away in 4 months. Well I beg to differ, I've know people that have had it for years and years. It's like some diseases, like chronic fatigue where western medical doctors just don't believe it, as if you are lying or something. Extremely frustrating and drove me away from western medicine for good.
I'm sorry I didn't see that thing you wrote, perhaps I should be more careful in my reading :-)
