Here is a bit of information on gelatin and veggie caps:

Because capsules are made from gelatin, an ingredient derived from slaughtered animals (mainly cows and pigs), they are therefore unsuitable to certain groups, such as vegetarians, vegans.

Veggie Caps -- composed on inert vegetable cellulose and do not interfere with the digestion and absorption of the ingredients contained within
