This is amazing! After suffering with this condition for 46 years I just 60 minutes ago diagnosed it! The description is EXACTLY what I got even down to how it is contracted as mine started after building hay bale forts up in my cousin's barn in Indiana (hay was listed as a carrier of the fungus). It has gone from severe to mild but has never ceased since 1964. I was taken to the doctor as a child but always only given salve. The cure is to take up to 6 grams of KI daily for up to 10 weeks! I feel divine intervention in being led to this information. I have had another miracle in June of '08 when I was hit with miller fischer syndrome an acute and rare variant of guillain barre' syndrome which nearly killed me. It's a long story but I know for SURE it was divine intervention then as too many impossible things happened in perfect order. That was my first and last hospital admission ever.
I should have some interesting stories working up to 6 grams a day! Should I consult a doctor? The link lists two other drugs which are currently used to treat this but I like Iodine and don't like doctors. From what I read this is for sure what I got, everything fits exactly. I've never complained about it here as I only considered it a nuisance condition and it is also something that has always brought me shame as I hide it and never discuss it with anyone.
