Better make this clearer, you never really needed the F165 to power the bean. It can be powered via your own willpower. Remote healers have used the device simply by holding it and channeling their own energy into it.

So if you want to use the F165 as a contact device you unplug the cable to the Bean and leave it with residual enery. If you turned the F165 off that shorts out the connection and it won't run so it needs to be unplugged while the F165 is on. This is what happens during a power failure, the equipment stays turned on...

But if you are between prayer times you don't need to run the Doctrine anyhow...
