I feel Bipolar Disorder should first of all be treated from a physiological point of view. To blame the parenting you received can not fully explain why you are Bipolar to-day, if you are at all. Not knowing you personally I don't know how severe the illness, or whether you just suffer from mood swings. All I can say that Bipolar People do benefit from going on a Hypoglycemic diet .
It may also be worthwhile discussing with your doctor Treatment of Bipolar Disorder
