what is and what will be are two very different things.
We started with petroleum, we'll end with petroleum. Switching up at this point will be too expensive and is only going to happen once we run out. Then you'll see a whole new set of urgencies and emergencies, provided you live that long.
You can spin this whole BP issue however you want, but the simple fact is that its about the oil.
They gave up on plugging it. That topkill attempt was a joke, I'm sure they knew it wouldnt work. Too much pressure. At that pressure it'll be interesting to see if the bottom kill will even work. If they thought they could simply plug the hole and that was their sole strategy, why do they need two relief wells? Why not just pump the crap through one to seal up the hole?
They're not going to do this without an alternative way to collect the oil, the oil is more important than the gulf or its people and habitat.
Obama is letting them get away with it. Even the president has shown everybody where his priorities are. The idea now is to smile and pretend its being taken care of. The coast guard, the administration, and BP have given up and are relying on this relief well effort.
Someone on CNN said it best. If this were a war and we were fighting the enemy, we would already be occupied territory.
Its disgusting. Our country has gone to shit.
People in the gulf are between Barack and a hard place.
