Yes, and minimal or low fat meats are OK. Basically he should avoid high fats or bitter foods.

PS--people close to me now think I am nuts, since I inadvertently happened to mention that you can make opals with kombucha. Oh-oh.

Well, if I ever get a hold of a scoby I will find out. Although I still like the idea of using water kefir grains better. The problem with the scoby is if it seals the surface it would be hard to keep feeding it for the continued acid production.
