  Odd thing is it's more common in Asian countries. That may be because their doctors and hospitals do a lot more than ours do, from checking for these things to operating on them. It doesn't sound very easy or safe. 

This could be simply from diet as well.  Or maybe the stones are not cholesterol stones but rather pigment stones from a higher rate of problems such as hemolytic anemia.
