I haven't really ever thought about it but I'd think that lying on the grass would be fine but I don't think it would completely take the place of walking barefoot.  I guess you could move your feet back and forth over the grass.  If there is a reason you can't walk then of course I would get my bare feet on the ground anyway I could, just be sure to move them around not just leave them sitting still.

Dr. Christopher and Dr. Schulze clearly said to 'walk' barefoot daily, but then Dr. Schulze said he took some of his patients to the beach and had them walk, swim and roll in the sand.   I'm thinking it might have something to do with the friction that is created when you walk, when your feet are moving on the grass.

When I barefoot I can actually feel the electricity leaving my body.  My legs tingle, it's the best feeling.  The first time I barefooted I tingled much more than I do now because I had so much stored up electricity that needed to be released but I still feel the tingle every single time I barefoot.

I really don't know the answer to your question, I'm sorry but what I've posted is just speculation on my part.  But by all means do whatever is necessary in your circumstance to get those bare feet moving in the grass ;)
