thanks so much, Chris! very comprehensive.

Just for interest, in case others are reading, as well,

There are a few factors that probably apply..

One, he was hit by a car, at about five, crossing a street, and fell backward, on his head. He appeared not to be hurt, and was never taken to hospital. So--never seen.
He suffered an episode of sunstroke as an adolescent. Passed out, (not on drugs, etc.) and woke up much later. I think he was seriously sick from this for awhile. It was never followed up on, either. I wonder if this might have signaled the onset of a problem with assimilating vitamin D.

He also has 'worked himself into the ground', doing much for others, raising a family, working morning to night, even though it takes great fortitude to move his body around.

In the past, his doctor gave him B12 injections. (And never offered anything else, but monitering his status which was said to be irreversible and untreatable. He hasn't had one in some time--lost faith that any of that made a difference. He wanted to water fast, but can't do that AND work, while also commuting to work. (we do eat in a Natural Hygiene manner, and that has helped a LOT in that he hasn't got worse, and might be a bit better.) I'm thinking to get him some sublingual B12--say in the liquid. Would that be
a good thing? Getting the shots takes a lot of time and effort to get there, to park, walk, etc...

I would love to get him on a few things--the D3 sounds promising, although I am concerned about the effect of high doses--how will the body 'balance' all this D3? what will it do in reaction? He LOVES sun and heat, doesn't get enough, and seems to thrive in it. He likes slamon and sardines--is that a good source of oils? I am trying to keep things simple.

thanks, Chiron
