Hello everyone,

I've been lurking on here for some time now and I finally decided to join CZ as I see there is a lot of useful information. However, I can't seem to figure out what to do to cure my acne. I'm getting very frustrated but I know there's hope!

I started seeing an ND after college and he has helped me quite a bit more than any of my traditional allopathic docs have. I've been able to get off all my medications completely. Granted, I now take tons of supplements which is pretty expensive. I've also seen an herbalist who unfortunately has not helped me at all.

Since the age of four (I'm 26 now) I was in and out of the doctor's office for severe asthma and allergies. I don't know if it's useful information but I also did have jaundice as a newborn. My entire life consisted of steroid inhalers, nasal sprays, Antibiotics , antihistamines, decongestants - you name it. I even went through allergy shots but they never worked and made me even more sick. During college I had to get nasal surgery because I got desperate as nothing was working for me.

Throughout my life (mostly starting towards the end of high school) I felt like I got progressively more allergic and more fatigued and my skin went from an occasional breakout to major acne. I don't know if it was mostly due to my diet/lifestyle or if it was due to all the medications and dental treatments I endured. When I started college I had a few Amalgam fillings (without my knowledge or consent) and I have a feeling that may have made my condition worse. I also ended up being diagnosed with sleep apnea. The cause is due to my mouth breathing as a child - it caused my jaws to not develop properly. Then the eight teeth my ortho removed caused my jaws to recede and shrink the airway. I am in the process of trying to get that surgery covered by insurance. Anyhow, I know part of my fatigue, stress, and irritability is also due to not sleeping at night/low oxygen. I also was diagnosed with ADHD around this time...

My ND had put me on idoine (which i recently started taking again), Vit.C, CoQ10, Selenium, Vit. E, and ACV, probiotics, fish oil, and an Immune boosting formula. Within the first few weeks I was feeling much more energetic and rested and I didn't experience an increase in my acne.

So I went back to him several times and he tweaked my supplement intake and included a thyroid glandular (I've read that steroids can harm the thyroid) substance, a B-complex, herbal sleep aid, digestion enzymes and then suggested my Acne was the result of my diet. According to the live blood analysis - my blood was good. There's been no change in my Acne with all the tweaks.

Now, I do try to eat as healthy as possible but I'm unemployed at the moment so it's difficult. Anyhow, I have not had milk in almost two years, I avoid bread as much as possible, and I don't sweeten anything with sugar. I drink only distilled or purified water, and I use all natural grooming products and toiletries. I even got a shower filter to help with my skin. I got into juicing for several months and I noticed no change in my skin.

I decided to start adding more supplements to my regimen as I learned more about natural healing (adrenal, chlorella, spirulina, maca, msm, vitamin d, etc..) and I feel my skin has gotten a little worse. I experience those big red painful zits that don't even have whiteheads, and my pores are still full of blackheads and white heads. I usually get the big red zits on my chin and jawline and my forehead. I've done two colon cleanses, a candida cleanse, and have improved my diet even more with tons of vegetables and I can't seem to cure my acne. I even started taking diatomaceous earth.

Now, my allergies have gotten a lot better and I can breathe through my nose a lot easier without the need for medications and I've improved my ADHD symptoms slightly. I can say that my skin is a lot softer and smooth but still filled with breakouts. I've spent so much money on trying to cure my Acne that I do not know what to do next. I'm considering doing a Liver Flush but I do not know which one to try...

I started taking some milk thistle, and a TCM liver balance formula last week so I'll see how that works but I'm so frustrated that I can't find relief for these breakouts. I don't know if they're working because I've been feeling very fatigued and depressed this week. My skin hasn't cleared up much.

Can anyone, somebody advise me on what I should do? I would appreciate any help. I'm tired of wasting money on hopeless cures.

Thanks everyone and sorry for such a long-winded first post!

P.S. I don't think this is related but I also did have a chin implant put in last year as I couldn't bear seeing my face with so little lower jaw - what if the implant is toxic to me?? I just don't know what it could be...
