Hello Cora,

Was the weight loss from attempting to starve the candida on the low carb diet? That is how I lost most of my weight. In hindsight I now know that it was a big mistake for me to do that. I personally feel that one would never be able to starve out candida. You would most likely see your own demise before the candida would. At the same time, you become very malnourished and have nothing left to fight the fungus with and pretty much destroy your body systems. I would not recommend to anyone to try and starve it out. You have to eat something. And I personally feel that it depends on how bad the candida/fungus is as to whether you can go the herb route. My infection was so bad it just laughed at the coconut oil and many other herbs/supplements that I tried. One of the things that worked for me was first having a test done to identify any food allergies . Doc said he had never seen a result with as many positives as mine. I tested positive to everything, so doc said you have to eat or you won't survive, so I just tried to pick things that were low on the positive scale. Turned out this was only about 6 different foods, which I have eaten day in and day out for the last year. At one time I was taking the Itra, along with coconut oil, and about 6 other supplements. I was making progress, but it was slow. It wasn't until I stopped everything except the Itra, probiotics, and multi-vit that I saw faster results, so I sometimes think it is best not to take so many different things to try and rid yourself of Candida. However because we all suffer so much, we want it out of our bodies as soon as possible, but unfortunately it just doesn't happen that way. Fungus/mold/candida takes a very long time to kill depending on the severity of your case so for most we may be looking at years.
Another thing that also worked for me was prayer. I was so desperate for help I would surf the net day and night looking for an answer or just anyone to help me. With each hospitalization I spent the entire time on my laptop looking for answers. Even though the internet has truly been a blessing, it was God that directed me to the right sites were was able to find the right answers and the right doctors. The minute my feet would hit the floor each morning I was on the computer. Then one day I realized that my faith and healing was in Jesus. Even though I knew this already, when you are sick, you are just desperate looking for help from any person, man, woman, whoever to help you. So you in a way forget this. When I started putting God first, and by this I mean, I still got on the net, but before I did all of the surfing I put God first, I prayed, went to biblegateway.com and read scriptures, and by putting God first he led me to the right places on the net where I would find the right answers to help me. He has been the one that has directed my every path through this entire situation. I say that to say that yes, we are all desperate for help and all here to help one another, but I just personally know from my own experience that when I put God first, that's when my true healing began. There were days like everyone else when I thought I couldn't go on and just wanted to lay down and not get up, EVER. No person, NOONE could ever understand my suffering. In these moments I remembered the advice of a wise woman who once told me that when things become overwhelming you just say aloud "I give this to you Jesus, I am no longer strong, and I need you to bear this huge weight and burden for me because I am just not strong enough to do it" I would say this practically everyday without even realizing that my mind, body, and spirit was slowly getting better. So to make a long story short, I personally feel that you have to put God first. Everything that has happened to us, happened for a reason. For me, I had the Candida, before the mold poisoning. Had I not been put in a home with toxic mold, I am sure the Candida would have led to my early demise. How ironic is it that the Itra kills both mold and Candida. Even though this road has been so hard, I did not die and in the long run it may have been God's way of saving my life by allowing me to suffer for this little while(even though it seems like forever) because I most likely would have died from Candida and never treated it because as we know most docs give you 1 Diflucan and send you on your way. I am now killing 2 bird with 1 stone. Thank God. It's not easy, but God can and will restore all that we have lost.
