I had the Mirena before and after my daughter, I liked it. When I had it removed the first time before I got pregnant I thought "That was it?" when my doctor did it, so I was a little braver the second time and just had my husband do it. It was actually more comfortable than when my doctor did it, which have something with having been pregnant, but still. I looked all over the internet before we did it and I saw boards that said not to do it, but I couldn't find any real reason not to. I think if you go slowly and gently, listening to your body, you'll be just fine.
