First off: the salt water solution sounds like a great idea to include the morning after. If you don't mind me asking, how's the sole prepared? And what's the best time to drink it? Does it have to be himalayan salt or can it be Sea Salt or even rock salt like Redmond Real Salt?
I understand Coke has no appeal for many people being such an unhealthy item and it certainly won't convert those with many successful Clark flushes under their belt. However,
Clearly the oil and citrus juice are the relevant ingredients, and both Clark and Coke share them so that's why they must work. Now I'm no expert but I've long suspected there's more to the Coke than just flavoring or setting the stomach. I'm not sure the action of the Coke has been as thoroughly examined as that of grapefruit or lemon. It may well be just an inert ingredient. But being so acidic that's unlikely. Dr. Sutter admits he doesn't know how it works, but he argues the Coke flush is different in that the dietary restrictions of the Clark method (eating light meals afterward, etc.) don't apply --the implication being that the Coke flush is a lighter load, less taxing to the body, better handled by the frail- and so he doesn't urge people to alter their diets much, either before or after. Then again, he doesn't use Epsom Salts and that's one depleting factor. Personally I think the Coke has to be chilled and with the fuzz intact -not shaken. Warm and shaken as some recommend it is not really Coke anymore -and the fizz and cold are its two unique emulsifying factors. Someone posted that Coke was the only thing able to "tame the olive oil beast," but they may have meant only flavor-wise. Or did they? Those who use Epsom Salts in tandem with the Coke flush may provide more complete testimonials on whether the Coke potion adds or subtracts to the Epsom depletion. Consider this: cold drinks have been contraindicated as making the flush less effective, even when taken days before the flush, and yet the Coke works, and very well. Magical but misunderstood Flushing Potion? After all, Coke fizz promotes stomach fullness, which is essential in making the gallbladder contract, and the reason why overeating is a major trigger of gallbladder attacks. The Coke carbonation then may fill or extend the stomach even more than the oil/juice alone. So, the gallbladder may be more stimulated to expel stones than with the standard oil/citrus potion, while the liver is less compelled to secrete such excessive amounts of bile because the emulsifying combined effect of the Coke and lemon pushes the oil down the GI tract faster. Therefore a large quantity of Extra-Virgin Olive-Oil is 'tamed' and turned into a kitten, the Coke flush acting like a self-regulating mechanism that gives astounding results without ever allowing the oil to overtax the system. An elegant wizard in full command of the internal seas...
