It's extremely rare and very unlikely that you could have a problem with it. The unfortunate part is that the first sign COULD be retinal detachment or cysts dying and causing inflammation of the brain.

I only worry about this for myself because I have a lesion on the back of one eye and 6 in my brain. There is a slight possibility that tape worms could be my problem and so will wait until I see my eye specialist next week to see if there may be a correlation between the two.

For me, it's better to be safe....
