Martha

I'm wondering if you have visited www.ithyroid.com it's a great laymans site on thyroid disorders and mineral imbalances etc. I'm just beginning taking alot of self-responsibility after a few years of naturopaths and alternatives as well as doctors. I was diagnosed with hashimotos thyroiditis and developed multinodular goiter. Doctors wanted to remove my thyroid basically because of cosmetic reasons, but I have felt like you, it doesn't solve the problem and may very well exasperate it. For now I'm following Dr. Richard Schulze s Colon Cleanse with great success and liver cleanse with less success. I also did a hair analysis as suggested on the ithyroid site and found a number of key minerals very lacking, sodium potassium, calcium magnesium, etc. this will be the next step for me.
People on this site have recovered, so take heart, as I must also, its very encouraging that you were helped in the past and saw your goiter and other symptoms disappear, these glands need enough nutrition to reach them. Check out the bulletin on this site people have so much info to share. I presently am taking armour thyroid , juicing helps alot, barley grass, kelp, Sea Salt , magnesium citrate very good and calming helps muscles to relax, very important in thyroid disorders, perhaps would help you sleep? I also take a multi-mineral in capsule not horse pills, drink lots of water with a bit of Sea Salt or trace minerals in it. I'm just beginning to make schulzes herbal tinctures, it will take a while to see how that goes as well. I often can feel quite tired still, but the hair loss stopped and I never gained weight with my condition either. I'd be very interested if you remember what you were given that took you over the hump in the past. I have not often heard of someones goiter going down that was not on tapazol a pharmacutical I believe for hyperthyroid or thru topical Iodine oil when there was a clear deficiencey as in a goiter belt. I,m encouraged just to hear that your goiter decreased in the past even tho it has returned, it shows the importance of getting enough nutrition to the organs so we can cope with the stresses of our lives.
Hope some of this helps
Take heart
Barb
