A personal story about negative heal sandals... by grzbear ..... Knee Problems & Knee Pain Forum

I have been going barefoot, or wearing sandals almost exclusively (99.99% of the time) for nearly 2.5 years now... after a time, I began wearing nothing but negative heal sandals when I wear them.

I recently bought a pair of Keen sandals given the great recommendations from customers and several doctors. Wearing them around the house an hour or two at a time, I found them fairly comfortable, not exceedingly so, and very well made... so I took them on a recent karate camp trip with me. The first day I wore them all day, hiking and walking quite a few miles in them...

By early afternoon my knees started aching some and I attributed it to the increase in physical activity - we were also doing hours of karate practice.

By late afternoon I was beginning to feel escalating knee discomfort to the point of having to take the sandals off - just to put my feet up... and almost immediately felt relief of the discomfort. I then put on my negative heal sandals and found that the discomfort abated further.

Perhaps my body has acclimated itself to the negative heal, or, it really does relieve pressure on the knees - at least for me.

Just a personal observation on how choice of footwear may be more of an issue in knee pain than most people consider.
