what was your profession in your prior life? I have held on to my covetted position for now, its just that its not so covetted anymore, at least not by me. but, i still have to find a way to provide for my family and pay off things, like massive educational debt. many young people now are little more than indentured servants, trying to pay off school loans. interesting here too, educational debt cannot be discharged for the most part in bankruptcy under U.S. law... just like medical bills (for which spouses are fully liable). nice.

sometimes when i go to court in small towns, the majority of the cases are the hospital suing the patient for medical bills. of course the patient almost never shows up. no point in fighting a battle you can't win. and, ignore that the treatment was harmful, not helpful, anyway. could never be proved with the type of evidence required in a court.
