I'm confused about coffee enemas. Some people say lay on the left side while retaining, and others say the right side....Which is best and why? I also had my gallbladder removed but feel EXTREMELY toxic and currently unable to work because of chronic fatigue and many stomach and memory problems. Also, some say to do a cleansing enema afterward to remove the toxins dumped by the liver.

I tried a 3 cup coffee enema this afternoon. I only did one and have tried before but couldn't retain for very long. This time I was successful at 15 minutes. I only did one. Soon afterward, I broke out with several rashes and swelling all over my body and turned red like a sunburn with itchings. These eventually went away. Anyone have any ideas as to what is happening and how to be more effective? Should it have been followed by a second one or a cleansing enema?
