Given enough time, this oil leak just might eventually fulfill the second trumpet in Revelation.
Rev. 8:8,9 "Then the second angel sounded: and something like a great mountain burning with fire [oil rig explosion?] was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood [the oil slick is kinda blood colored]. And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.[ships can represent commerce or wealth/goods]
