Everyone be careful about who you let do a root canal on you and ASK what they use. There is a small group of disrespected dentists in this country (American Endodontic Society) who advocate the use of an FDA rejected material, Sargenti Paste, that has FORMALDEHYDE as it's active ingredient...and in concentrations that are also in embalming fluid. 99% of the dental community is against it, it is being sold against FDA regulations (who in their dysfunctional way is ignoring those who break their laws). The ADA does not recommend it, every single accredited dental school teaches not to use it, the FDA rejected it in 1993 for failure to prove safety because of the formaldehyde. Sometimes it also contains lead and mercury. Dentists will not tell their patients even after they have injured you.
There is also another formaldehyde based material used on baby teeth that contains 19% formaldehyde (active ingredient). There are news articles about hospital wings being evacuated, dental office personnel being sent to the ER because of a ONE OUNCE spill, yet dentists think it is ok to put into our children's mouth? NOT MINE.
I'm just glad that I learned this lesson at my expense and not my childs.
Watch the NBC video at this website started by two seriously and permanently injured patients. ASK and SAY NO. Don't become a random victim.
